This is a UNIQUE and rare opportunity.   To fund this expedition you will find the only plan like this in the world!

For each Kili participant, this is where the  adventure begins.  There is a challenge at hand if you are up to it.   The rewards are great.  The experience of climbing the highest mountain in  Africa, to have immersed yourself in one of the most awesome experiences of your  life and to do so with 39 others who join their spirits on Kilimanjaro.   There is also the fulfillment of giving to the American Cancer Society (ACS), an  organization committed to stomping out cancer.  A disease that has affected  many of us directly or those we care for a lot.

Here is a breakdown of the fixed cost:

  • Kili ground cost is
    • Leo Mosho - $2800
    • Climbers will break up into two groups, one faster group and one slower group. Climbers will choose which group they want to be in.
  • Air is about $1800 as of 1/1/08 from Rochester, NY
  • Optional Three day safari - $1,050
  • OR Optional Five day safari - $1,480
  • Commit to ACS a minimum of  $2500 (for each climber) to help reach the $100,000 goal of this campaign.

Each individual will be able to approach these costs differently. How you combine the following is up to you after discussion with us.

 A. Some maybe able to pay the whole amount alone.

 B. Your individual fund raising using our support tools.

 C.  Group fundraising.  This is exciting because you are part of a group.  You join and join the events held throughout the year.  You will do your part, depending on your skills to help make them successful.  For example, Rock Ventures has donated use of the facilities and activities to hold an event.

A few are doing A alone.  Some are doing A and B.  And many are needing the assistance of C.

Here is an example of what happened when one member committed this process and started to search for a solution.  (this sounds like hype from a magazine ad, it is real)

I just took the  opportunity to talk to one of the owners of the company that I work for.  I  briefly told him what my wife and I are trying to do.  His words were "Its  not everyday that you have an employee that wants to undertake an endeavor like  this.  Great Lakes Controls will be happy to support you in this  effort."   He told me that he will work with one of the vendors that we  have a good relationship with to get a special project price for an upcoming  order in the amount that we need to cover costs for the trip.  In addition,  he would like to have some pictures and information that he can put into a  letter from him to send to our other vendors to get going on the ACS portion of  the donations.  He said to me that he would like to set a goal of  $10,0000.00 in donations to the ACS for this project.  Please let me know  how to get the information from you."

 Thank you,

We are committed to helping you go if you accept this challenge.  Once you decide to go, you will meet if local or discuss on the phone your options with Matt Flanigan (or email: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) the $5 million man at ACS.  Together you will create a plan of how to help you get to Kilimanjaro.  Please see our information on fundraising .  The main thing is to decide to commit to doing this first.  There will be many pieces that will be important to your success.

You are certainly not  alone in the effort.  Behind you is the support structure of both  organizations that will help you raise the money.  A Fundraising  committee is formed and personal coaching is available to develop ideas  tailored to you  There is a $500  non-refundable deposit to register for the journey.  If you decide not to  go, this will be a donation to ACS.  The balance needs to be paid by no later than 60 days prior to leaving with various payment plans available.   To complete your entire African experience, an optional safari trip is available.  Many people who climb Kili also go on the safari to round out the trip.

So, are you ready for the plunge?  Get in on  it now while it's early.  An exciting journey lies ahead.  A lifelong  reward awaits you. The sooner you join up the more opportunities are open to you.
