Raising awareness and money for one’s favorite causes is a time-honored tradition in our nation. The battle against cancer is a cause that many take very seriously and share a real passion for. Welcome to the battle.
If you are new to this type of fundraising you may have some concerns about how is it done? Can I do this? Or even is this possible? Let us assure you, this is a very do-able goal. Yes you can do it! Much like our trip up the mountain, this is a step-by-step process that is best accomplished when started early, with a carefully crafted plan that is focused upon along the way!
CREATE A PLAN
Whether you are new to this or have been doing fund raising for a long time, we are here to help create a plan tailored to you, your interests and your passions. After all, you are what is important in this process.
The first step is a simple one, take time to think about the things YOU do & enjoy, that others may enjoy as well. Once you have a good list of ideas we can help create some events around those items. Some examples include;
Do you like to cook? Do you like to try new recipes? Or are you like me, not much of a cook, but love to eat? Would you consider hosting some dinners, or having a “Cook Off”? Imagine your friends and family gathered for a “Chile for Kili night” where people offer a small gift of cash to be entered into a chili contest, and all recipes are shared. Every one is a winner, and all have helped support you in your endeavor to climb a mountain, and fight cancer.
Maybe your interest or abilities are in other areas. Would you like to host a music jamboree or a kayak party with the help of Pack Paddle, Ski? COSTS AND FUNDRAISING EXPECTATIONS
Each person who is willing to climb this inspiring mountain will do their part in raising dollars to help fight cancer. Much like we are all at a different places in terms of ability to climb, we all have different abilities to support this effort. Whether you are able to fund this entire experience “out of pocket” or are willing to help conduct events that will help us reach our goals, all are welcome.
